Taneen Jafarkhani is an employment attorney with a broad practice and experience.
She provides preventative counseling and strategic legal advice to employers on a wide range of matters, including employment law claims alleging discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and wage violations, employee relations, wage-and-hour compliance, anti-discrimination laws, reasonable accommodation counseling, leaves of absence, policy and program development, and administrative charges filed with state and federal agencies, including the California Labor Commissioner, Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, California Civil Rights Department, and others.
Before joining Folger Levin, Taneen served 12 years in-house at various software, media, and nonprofit companies, in addition to maintaining a solo practice for five years. This hands-on experience makes her adept at coaching leaders through challenging employee relations and legal compliance matters while achieving practical and effective workplace solutions.
Taneen graduated from the University of California Berkeley School of Law. She was President of the Middle Eastern Law Student Association and externed for the Honorable David O. Carter of the United States District Court for the Central District of California.
Taneen received her B.A. in Political Science from University of California Los Angeles (UCLA), graduating Summa Cum Laude with Phi Beta Kappa membership. Taneen currently serves on the Board of Directors for Safe & Sound, a nonprofit whose mission is to end child abuse in San Francisco. Taneen is a member of the California bar.
