Board and Community Service Updates

Posted by Vivian Chang

Folger Levin LLP attorneys have a long-standing commitment to community service, and one of the ways we honor this commitment is by serving on the boards of organizations that are meaningful to us.  Last month, three members of our firm took on the following board roles:

  • Jiyun Lee joined the Board of Trustees of the Star Academy, an independent nonprofit school located in San Rafael.  Star Academy provides a comprehensive, individualized education program for elementary, middle and high school students with learning differences, and is a recognized leader in education for Bay Area special needs students.
  • Drew Davis was recently elected as the Board Chair & President of the Family Violence Appellate Project (“FVAP”).  FVAP is the only organization in California dedicated to appealing cases, pro bono, on behalf of domestic violence survivors and their children.  FVAP represents low-income survivors when trial court decisions leave them or their children at risk of ongoing abuse. Drew has served on the Board of FVAP since 2013.
  • Vivian Chang joined the Board of Trustees of The Little School.  The Little School is a nationally recognized nonprofit preschool in San Francisco founded in 1984 to provide young children a relationship-based and child-centered preschool program.  The Little School is also an inclusive preschool program committed to serving children with diverse developmental profiles including children with identified special needs.  Vivian is a proud parent of a Little School student, and honored to serve on its Board.
